How to Care for Newborn Kittens

Newborn kittens are cute and very cuddly. But, as this video demonstrates, they also demand constant care that you and your veterinarian should discuss ahead of time.

Most Veterinarians advise pet owners to let the mother cat take care of her newborn kittens. The longer a kitten can stay with its Mom the better adjusted the kitten will be, psychologically speaking.

However, if the kittens are orphaned, you will be responsible for their health and wellbeing. Kittens need nutrition every 2 to 4 hours. Therefore, you will need to purchase a pet nursing bottle and plenty of milk replacement. Be sure to keep them in a warm, quiet area of your home. Also, don’t over handle them, as they require a lot of sleep for brain development and nutritional digestion.
